Opening Ceremony of Training for Teachers on Digital Literacy AGILE.
The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project launched a Training of Trainers  program for teachers on Digital Literacy at Olive Hotel, Damaturu, on Monday, 25th November 2024.
The Component Lead of Digital Literacy and Remote Learning, Muhammad Alhaji Adamu, delivered a welcome address, introducing the sub-component as one of the 10 sub-components of AGILE. The objective is to ensure senior secondary school students, especially girls, acquire digital literacy skills.
Sixty-seven participants, carefully selected from 35 schools, attended the training. Adamu urged participants to engage actively, ask questions, and grasp the knowledge to effectively train 678 teachers in their respective schools.
Mal. Umar Ibrahim Usman, CEO of Umayyfa Communication Links, expressed gratitude to the Project Coordinator, Component Lead, and SPIU staff for their cooperation and support.
The Project Coordinator, AGILE, Mal. Abdullahi Dahiru Bula, thanked the attendees and provided a detailed overview of AGILE components. He emphasized that the project is tailored for Yobe State, with the World Bank providing loan support. Bula also addressed rumors surrounding AGILE objectives, reaffirming the project’s commitment to empowering girls through education.
The event was attended by all component leads of the AGILE project.
